The Heritage Association of South Africa (HASA) is holding its annual symposium on the 12, 13 and 14 October 2023. This year’s event will be held at Kedar Heritage Lodge (located about 26km out of Rustenburg) and is hosted by the Magaliesberg Association for Culture and Heritage. The programme is packed with interesting speakers and outings that will showcase Rustenburg and surrounding districts.
Talks will include: the history of the Boekenhoutfontein Farm, Kruger family history, Lutheran Mission History, the churches, synagogues, mosques, hotels and halls of Rustenburg, architecture, geology, history of the Marico, the history of the Bafokeng, Mzilikazi, the art of Ellie Holm, and the Boer War.
The morning talks will be followed by a variety of afternoon excursions.
