Public Protest – Re-open Our Library!

CALL TO PARTICIPATE IN A PUBLIC PROTEST: RE-OPEN OUR LIBRARY!

The Johannesburg Heritage Foundation, in collaboration with the Johannesburg Crisis Alliance, is holding a public protest calling on the City of Johannesburg and it’s implementing agency, the Johannesburg Development Agency, to “Re-open Our Library”.

The public protest will be held outside the Johannesburg City Library on Saturday 18 May 2024, from 10.00 to 11.00. The library is located on Beyers Naude Square in the inner city, Cnr. Albertina Sisulu Streets & Fraser Street.

  1. I am afraid I am too old and infirm to join the public protest but I certainly support what you are doing. It is very sad that the beautiful Central Library has been closed for so long. When I was young I belonged to the Lending library and the Music library and spent many hours in the Reference library. I hope your protest yields positive results and that the library will be open again very soon.
